AUB seeking candidates for Sir Michael Atiyah Chair in Mathematics

 

AUB is seeking candidates for the newly established Sir Michael Atiyah Chair in Mathematical Sciences. Applications should include a current CV, a detailed statement of research and teaching plans, and the names and addresses of at least three references.

Candidates for the Sir Michael Atiyah Chair should have made distinguished contributions in one or more fields of mathematical science. Applications from candidates who work in the areas of mathematics and theoretical physics influenced by Sir Michael Atiyah will be particularly welcome.
The Sir Michael Atiyah Chair Professor will be expected to develop research activity in the mathematical sciences in the widest sense, encourage collaboration and interaction between all departments in AUB in which mathematics plays a role, and encourage international links with the mathematical community world-wide. The Candidate is expected to offer graduate and undergraduate courses and supervise research in relevant fields. Depending on areas of expertise, the Chair Professor may have a joint appointment in more than one Department.
Competitive salary and benefit packages will be offered to successful candidates.
