​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Environmental health is the branch of public health that: focuses on the relationships between people and their environment; promotes human health and safety; and fosters healthy and safe communities.

The Environmental Health Department (ENHL) at FHS provides training in environmental health within a broad basic sciences background. The department emphasizes evaluation and control of major environmental health problems in developing countries in such fields as water​ supply, waste disposal, food hygiene, occupational health, air pollution, and others​
